App Promo Video Production Kuwait: Costs and Process

App Promo Video Production Kuwait: Costs and Process

Every few weeks a founder or marketing manager in Kuwait City sends us a link to their app and asks for "a quick video for the App Store." Then the brief grows: a 30-second hero film, vertical cutdowns for Meta, an Arabic version, something for the launch event. App promo video production in Kuwait is almost never one deliverable. It is a small system of files built from one well-planned recording session, and the difference between a studio that understands that and one that does not shows up directly in your install cost.

We have shot these for fintech, delivery, clinics, retail and government-adjacent services. Below is how we price them, how long they take, and the two or three decisions that matter far more than the camera.

Why app promo video production in Kuwait is its own discipline

A product film for a factory or a showroom is mostly a camera problem. An app film is mostly a screen problem. The hero of the video is a user interface, which means the hardest work happens before anyone shoots: deciding which three taps tell the story, getting a build stable enough to record, and making sure the data on screen looks like a real Kuwaiti user rather than "Test User 1" with a KWD 0.000 balance.

The local layer matters too. Kuwait buyers search in both Arabic and English, often in the same week — someone looking for this service will type app promo video production Kuwait or the Arabic equivalent, فيديو ترويجي للتطبيق, depending on which keyboard is open. The same split runs through your app: if you serve Kuwait properly, you ship an Arabic interface, and that has consequences for the video that most overseas vendors miss entirely.

How much does an app promo video cost in Kuwait?

A screen-only promo — 20 to 30 seconds, one language, motion graphics and sound design, no live action — runs KWD 350 to KWD 700. Add live-action footage of someone actually using the app and a bilingual delivery, and you are between KWD 900 and KWD 2,000. A full launch package lands at KWD 2,500 to KWD 5,000.

Bands we quote against in 2026:

  • Screen-only promo (20–30s, one language, one cut): KWD 350–700
  • Screen plus live action (hands, phone-in-context, one talent, bilingual): KWD 900–2,000
  • Launch package (hero film, 6–10 vertical cutdowns, store preview, both languages): KWD 2,500–5,000
  • Store preview only (App Store / Play, built from existing footage): KWD 200–450
  • Arabic version as a true re-record rather than subtitles: add KWD 150–400

Timeline is two to three weeks from kickoff for most of this — roughly three days of scripting and storyboard, one day of screen capture, one shoot day if there is live action, then five to seven working days of edit and revisions. We have compressed it to ten working days for a hard launch date, but that assumes your build is frozen and one person on your side can approve without a committee.

The line item that surprises people is not the camera. It is engineering time on your side. Budget a few hours of a developer's week to produce a clean build with seeded demo data. Shoots that run over almost always run over because the app crashed, not because the lighting took long.

Do you need a separate Arabic version of your app promo video?

Yes — and subtitles do not count. Arabic interfaces are right-to-left, so an Arabic-speaking viewer watching your English screen recording with Arabic captions is watching a mirrored version of the app they will actually open. Buttons sit on the wrong side. Navigation flows backwards. It reads as careless, and it undercuts the one thing a promo video is supposed to do, which is make the product feel trustworthy.

The fix is straightforward if you plan for it: capture the same flows twice, once in each language interface, in the same session. Captured together it is a small addition. Captured a month later it is a second production. This is the same discipline we apply across bilingual Arabic and English video content for Kuwait brands, and apps are the format where getting it wrong is most visible.

One practical note on voice: for app videos we usually recommend no voiceover at all. Most of these play muted in a feed. Let the interface, the text and the sound design carry it, and your Arabic and English cuts become far cheaper to maintain.

From screen recording to store listing: the production process

The sequence we follow, in order:

  1. Flow selection. Pick one job the user came to do. Not five features — one outcome, start to finish.
  2. Seeded data. Real-looking Kuwaiti names, KWD amounts, Salmiya and Sharq addresses, local phone formats. This single step does more for credibility than any camera move.
  3. Screen capture. Recorded at device resolution, both language interfaces, clean status bar, consistent battery and time.
  4. Live action, if any. Hands and phone-in-context, usually shot indoors. From May to September, outdoor phone shoots in Kuwait are genuinely difficult — screens are unreadable in direct sun and devices thermal-throttle and stop recording. Plan those for the cooler months or shoot in a controlled interior.
  5. Edit and motion. Device frames, UI callouts, kinetic text in both languages, sound design.
  6. Versioning. 9:16 and 1:1 for paid social, 16:9 for web and events, plus the store cut.

On store specs, check the current requirements before you lock an edit, because they change: Apple keeps app previews short — around 15 to 30 seconds, with up to three per localisation — and requires footage captured from the device itself, which is why a cinematic lifestyle film often gets rejected as a preview even though it works beautifully as an ad. Google Play takes a YouTube link and is more forgiving on length. Build the store cut as its own deliverable rather than trimming the ad and hoping.

If your product is a service rather than a screen-led app, the structure is closer to explainer video production in Kuwait, which uses a different script shape and usually costs less to revise.

App promo video production in Kuwait: frequently asked questions

How long should an app promo video be?

Fifteen to thirty seconds for paid social and the App Store, where attention is shortest and specs are tightest. Sixty to ninety seconds is reasonable for a website or an investor deck, where someone has already chosen to watch. If you only budget for one, make it the short one — you can always extend, but a long film rarely cuts down well.

Do you need access to the app before it launches?

We need a TestFlight or internal build, and ideally a staging account with seeded data. We sign an NDA as standard. Pre-launch work is common for us and it is actually the better time to shoot, because the team can still fix the small UI details the camera exposes before thousands of users see them.

Can you film inside a mall like The Avenues or 360 Mall?

Only with written permission from mall management, arranged in advance, and usually with restrictions on crew size, tripods and shooting hours. Public outdoor locations may need Kuwait Municipality permission, and some projects fall under Ministry of Information filming requirements. We handle these applications, but they need lead time — do not plan a mall shoot for next week.

How many versions do we need for Meta ads?

Four to six at minimum, varying the hook and the opening three seconds rather than the whole film, so you can see which message earns the install. We build these as a deliberate test set — the logic is covered in more detail in our Meta ads video creative playbook for Kuwait.

Getting it right the first time

The apps that win in Kuwait are not the ones with the slickest promo. They are the ones whose video shows a real flow, in the right language, with data that looks like it came from a user in Hawally rather than a template. That is a planning decision, made in week one, for almost no extra money.

If you are launching something in the next quarter, send us the build and the launch date and we will tell you honestly what is worth shooting and what is not. You can reach us through our contact page.
