Video Content Calendar Kuwait: Your 2027 Shoot Plan

Every October I get the same email from marketing managers in Kuwait City: "we need content for next year, can you send a quote?" The quote is the easy part. The hard part is that almost nobody arrives with a video content calendar Kuwait brands can actually shoot against — one built around this market's real calendar instead of a generic global template. So we build it with them. This is the version we use: the dates, the KWD figures and the constraints that decide what is filmable and when.

How do you build a video content calendar Kuwait brands can shoot against?

You start from three local conditions that override any regional playbook: the heat, the lunar calendar, and the Sunday–Thursday working week.

From May through September, daytime exteriors here are either unusable or expensive. Gear overheats, talent sweats through wardrobe, and a 9am call time in July has your crew working in high-forties heat by the second setup. Outdoor work then moves to the hour after sunrise or before sunset — two usable windows instead of a full day, so your rate buys half the coverage. October through April is the real production season, and the best weeks (November, December, late February, March) book out at every decent studio in Kuwait well in advance.

The lunar calendar then moves your biggest commercial moment about eleven days earlier each year, so campaign dates do not sit still. And with the Friday–Saturday weekend, Thursday afternoon is a dead zone for approvals: a three-round review starting Wednesday does not close until the following Tuesday. Build that in or your launch slips.

One more note: Kuwait audiences search in both Arabic and English, often switching mid-session — whoever types إنتاج فيديو (video production) is the same buyer searching "video production Kuwait" an hour later. Plan captions, voice-over and ad copy as a bilingual pair from the brief, not a translation bolted on in the edit. More in our guide to bilingual video content for Kuwait brands in Arabic and English.

The 2027 collision: Ramadan lands on National Day

This is the most important thing on your calendar next year. Ramadan 1448 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027 and run to roughly 8–9 March, with Eid al-Fitr straight after. National Day and Liberation Day fall on 25–26 February. For the first time in years, the National Day window sits inside Ramadan.

That breaks the usual pattern, where a loud festive February — Hala Febrayer activations, flags, retail promotions — gives way to a calmer, family-centred Ramadan in a separate window. In 2027 both occupy the same weeks and demand opposite tones. Practically:

  • Hala Febrayer and National Day creative must be quieter than usual. National pride, yes; party energy, no. Expect Ministry of Information scrutiny on tone for broadcast work.
  • Shoot both campaigns in one December or early-January block. You cannot film a Ramadan table scene and a National Day street activation in the same late-February week and have either be good. Dates stay provisional until the moon is sighted, so never lock creative to a fixed day.
  • Your Eid push moves to mid-March — the best weather of the year and your strongest retail window, four weeks before the heat closes exteriors.
  • Everything before Ramadan compresses. Creative live on day one means delivery in late January: two weeks of edit, a December shoot block, pre-production in November.

Our Ramadan video production Kuwait campaign plan for 2027 goes deeper on tone and format, and the Kuwait National Day video production playbook covers the February side.

A month-by-month shooting calendar

Shoot blocks are deliberately clustered. Fewer, bigger days beat a trickle of half-days, for cost and consistency.

October to December — your heaviest block

Good weather, long light, budget to spend before year end. The big one goes here: a two or three day principal shoot covering brand film, product coverage, testimonials and a bank of vertical cut-downs. Q4 retail runs here too, including White Friday — a genuine traffic spike in Kuwait, not an imported novelty. Our Black Friday video production Kuwait Q4 ad playbook covers how we structure those ads.

January — pre-production, not filming

Casting, talent releases, recces in Sharq and Mirqab, permit applications. If February creative is not in the edit by the third week of January, it will not be ready.

February to mid-March — Ramadan and Eid

Minimal new filming. Run what you shot in December, keep a small reactive crew for one-day social pickups, protect your Eid assets. The week after Eid suits a short second shoot while the weather holds.

April — the last comfortable exterior window

Our busiest month for outdoor and automotive work. Anything on the Gulf Road, at Kuwait Towers, Souq Mubarakiya or The Avenues exterior should be captured by end of April. Public locations need Kuwait Municipality permission — allow two to three weeks.

May to September — studio, interiors, night

Move indoors: product photography, studio-lit food work, interviews, podcast episodes, motion graphics. Night exteriors work from about 8pm if you budget for crew comfort. This is when a well-shot October block earns its money — one solid shoot, cut properly, carries you through summer, as in how to turn one video shoot into a month of content.

What should a year of video content cost in Kuwait?

For a mid-sized Kuwait brand running continuous social plus two campaign moments, budget roughly KWD 9,000 to 18,000 a year. Not a quote — the band we see hold across clients. It breaks down predictably:

  • Principal shoot block, 2–3 days: KWD 2,500–6,000 depending on crew, talent and locations. Your anchor.
  • Monthly retainer: KWD 600–1,500 for one shoot day plus 8–15 edited deliverables — typically 20–30% cheaper per asset than one-off bookings. The detail is in video production retainer Kuwait costs versus one-off shoots.
  • Campaign films: KWD 1,500–5,000 each for a 60–90 second film with cut-downs.
  • Permits and locations: KWD 100–600 a year — Ministry of Information for broadcast, Kuwait Municipality for public streets, mall management for The Avenues or 360 Mall. The malls are slowest.
  • Contingency: hold 10%. Moon sightings shift, talent cancels, a March sandstorm costs you a day.

Timelines: four to six weeks brief-to-delivery for a campaign film, two weeks for a social batch, three weeks lead on permits. GCC brands running Kuwait alongside Saudi, the UAE or Qatar should note that Kuwait permits move slower than Dubai's — a regional timeline will not transfer.

Frequently asked questions

When should I start planning a video content calendar in Kuwait?

October or November for the following year. That leaves time to book December shoot dates before studios fill, apply for permits, and get February creative into the edit by late January. Brands starting in January are already on a compressed timeline, and brands starting in February have effectively lost their Ramadan window.

How many shoot days do I need for a year of content?

Most Kuwait brands we work with land on six to ten days across three or four blocks: a principal shoot in Q4, a campaign shoot in December, a spring pickup after Eid, and one-day studio sessions through summer. Clustering days rather than scattering them cuts cost per deliverable and keeps the look consistent.

Can you film outdoors in Kuwait during summer?

Only in the margins of the day. Between May and September we shoot exteriors within about ninety minutes of sunrise or sunset, or at night. Expect roughly half the coverage of a winter day at the same rate, plus shade, cooling and hydration for crew and talent. On a hard deadline, moving indoors is the better call.

Do I need a filming permit for every shoot in Kuwait?

Not for private property with the owner's written permission, which covers most offices, studios and restaurants. You do need Kuwait Municipality permission for public streets and beaches, mall management approval for The Avenues or 360 Mall, and a Ministry of Information permit for broadcast work. Allow two to three weeks before locking dates.

Build the calendar before you book the shoot

The brands getting the most out of video here are not the ones spending the most. They are the ones who decided in October what February needs, booked the right weather window, and shot once instead of three times. Given how 2027 falls, that advantage is bigger than usual.

If you want this turned into real dates and a KWD figure, contact the studio — send your campaign moments and we will send back a video content calendar Kuwait brands can budget against.
