Website Video Production Kuwait: Costs and Hero Specs

If you have been pricing website video production in Kuwait, you have probably been quoted for the wrong thing. Nine times out of ten the brief is "a video for the homepage," and what arrives is a three-minute corporate film that sits below the fold and gets watched for eleven seconds. A website does not need one film. It needs a small set of short clips, each doing a different job on a different page.

We build these packages for companies in Sharq, Kuwait City and Salmiya most months of the year, and the pattern holds: the brands that convert are not the ones with the most cinematic video, they are the ones whose video loads fast and answers a question. Here is what the work costs in KWD, what we shoot, and the file specs that stop your pages crawling on Kuwait mobile data.

What does website video production in Kuwait cost?

Expect 350–700 KWD for a single purpose-built clip (a homepage hero loop or one product demo), 900–1,800 KWD for a four-to-six clip website package shot in one day, and 2,500 KWD and up if the package includes a scripted explainer with voice-over, motion graphics and a bilingual cut. Those bands assume a half or full day of filming, one location, and 2–3 weeks from brief to delivered files.

What moves the number, in rough order of impact:

  • Shoot days. One day covers four to six usable clips if locations are within a 20-minute drive. Sites in Ahmadi and Kuwait City on the same day cost you a half-day in traffic.
  • Talent. Booked talent in Kuwait runs 80–250 KWD per person per day depending on experience and usage rights; your own staff is free and usually more convincing.
  • Voice-over and subtitles. Budget 120–300 KWD for a professional Arabic read; a bilingual explainer needs two scripts and two subtitle passes.
  • Motion graphics. Lower thirds and a logo animation are cheap. Animated UI walkthroughs and 3D are not.
  • Permits. Interiors you own or lease need nothing. Exteriors and public locations are a different story — see below.

If your scope is really a single flagship film rather than a set of web clips, read our breakdown of company profile video production in Kuwait instead — the costs and the process are different.

Which videos does a Kuwait company website actually need?

Four, in this order: a silent hero loop, one 45–75 second explainer, two or three short proof clips, and a demo per core product or service. That is the real scope of website video production in Kuwait — not one film, but a small library where each piece has a page and a purpose.

The hero loop

Eight to twelve seconds, no text, no audio. It autoplays muted behind or beside your headline and its only job is to say "this is a real company doing real work" before the visitor reads a word. Shoot it wide and reframe for mobile deliberately; never crop and hope.

The explainer

45–75 seconds answering what you do, who it is for, and why you over the company next door. This is the clip that earns its place on an About or Services page and in your sales emails. If animation suits your service better than filming, our notes on explainer video production costs and timelines cover that route.

Proof clips

15–30 second cuts of a client saying one specific thing, or of the work being done. One sharp 20-second clip from a client in Hawally beats a two-minute testimonial where the person warms up for a minute first.

Product and service demos

One short clip per product page. For retail and online stores this is the highest-return video on the whole site — the same logic we set out in our guide to e-commerce product videography for Kuwait online stores.

Specs that keep a video-heavy site fast in Kuwait

This is where most website video dies. A beautiful 80 MB hero file will tank your load time on a phone on 4G in Jahra, and Google measures that. Hand your developer these numbers:

  • Hero loop: 1920×1080, H.264 MP4, 2.5–4 Mbps, under 6 MB total, muted, looped, with a WebP poster image that shows instantly while the video buffers.
  • Everything else: do not self-host. Embed from YouTube or Vimeo and let them handle adaptive streaming. Self-hosting a 60-second explainer is how a homepage ends up at nine seconds.
  • Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds. If the hero video is your LCP element, it is already too slow — the poster image should be.
  • Burned-in or SRT subtitles on every clip with speech. Most of your traffic watches muted.
  • Vertical 9:16 versions of the same footage for Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat, exported in the same session. You paid for the shoot day; take everything from it.

Arabic and English on one site

Kuwait buyers search in both languages, often in the same session — someone types "video production Kuwait" on a laptop at work and "إنتاج فيديو الكويت" on their phone that evening. If your site has Arabic and English versions, the video has to follow. The cheap, effective approach is one shoot, two subtitle tracks, and an Arabic voice-over only on the explainer, where tone actually matters. Give your dev team the Arabic term for the asset too — فيديو الموقع الإلكتروني — so alt text is not all English on an Arabic page. More on that in our piece on bilingual Arabic and English video content for Kuwait brands.

How a one-day website video shoot runs here

A typical package shoot: 8:00am call, interiors and talking heads before lunch while the office is quiet, product and detail shots after, exteriors in the last hour of light. Three Kuwait constraints shape that plan.

  • Heat, May to September. Exteriors in July are a 90-minute window at either end of the day, and your talent will look it. If the site refresh can wait, book exteriors between October and March.
  • Permits. Filming inside your own premises is free and unrestricted. Public locations — a street in Mirqab, the Kuwait Towers waterfront, Souq Mubarakiya — need Ministry of Information clearance and, for public land, Kuwait Municipality permission. Allow 1–2 weeks. Malls like The Avenues and 360 Mall have their own management approval, separate from the government process.
  • The Fri–Sat weekend. Sunday and Monday are the quietest days for an office shoot. Thursday afternoons are the worst — half your interviewees have mentally left.

FAQ: website video production in Kuwait

How long does a website video package take?

Two to three weeks for a standard package: three to five days on script and shot list, one shoot day, five to seven working days on the edit, then a round of revisions. Add 1–2 weeks if you need exterior permits, and another week for Arabic voice-over and subtitle approval.

Can I use one video for my website and my ads?

Partly. The footage is reusable, the edit is not — ad creative needs a hook in the first two seconds and a vertical frame, while a hero loop needs neither. Ask for ad cutdowns as a line item on the same shoot; far cheaper than a second shoot day.

Do I own the footage?

You should own the delivered files and hold unlimited usage rights for your own channels — put that in writing before the shoot. Raw footage is often held by the studio or charged separately for archiving. Talent and music licences are the exception: those usually carry their own term and territory limits.

Is a drone shot worth it for a website?

Only if the location is the product — real estate, a factory, a waterfront venue. Drone work in Kuwait needs DGCA clearance and adds 150–350 KWD to a shoot day. For an office in Salmiya, put that money into a better interview setup instead.

Where to start

Open your site on your phone, on mobile data, and time how long until something moves. Then list the three questions a buyer asks before they contact you. Those are your first three clips, and that list is a better brief than any treatment a studio will write for you. Want a second opinion on scope before you spend anything?
